Jarryd Hayne NFL Uniform and Retirement. We are updating this post to note that Jarryd retired from the NFL last 2016 as well as to include some photos of the guy looking cool and hot in his San Francisco 49ers football uniform.

First, here’s 49ers general manager Trent Baalke giving props to the rugby player turned NFL footballer: “We would like to thank Jarryd for his contributions to the San Francisco 49ers organization and our community over the last year. Jarryd is a tremendous example of what can happen when you commit to a goal and do everything in your power to make it a reality. He earned the right to wear a 49ers uniform and compete alongside the best in the game. We fully support Jarryd’s decision to pursue another dream – representing the Fiji Rugby Sevens team in this summer’s Olympic games. We look forward to watching him in Rio and wish him continued success.”

For his part, the Fijian/Aussie hunk thanked his former team and the fans: “The support and understanding from the 49ers organisation was unbelievable when I let them know about my decision to pursue another dream. The past 12 months with the San Francisco 49ers have been absolutely incredible. I could not have predicted how far I have come as an NFL player. To not only be able to play in a game but also say that I started a game in the NFL is something that I will remember for a lifetime.”

Apparently, her mom Gillian was originally from Sri Lanka. She was a model, beauty queen, and was a contestant in the Miss Sri Lanka pageant. In an interview with desiclub.com, Nigel reveals that its actually her mom who deserves credit for him becoming a model:

As for my modeling career, my mother is really to blame for my becoming a model. She was an avid watcher of an English TV show called “The Clothes Show,” which put on an annual model search. My mom entered me in 1989 or was it 90? I don’t remember. She entered me into the competition and to cut a long story short, I became a finalist and ended up in the top three. I decided to take a year off between High School and University and what was only meant to be a sabbatical, turned into a career move.
