Aside from The Half of It, another Netflix show we are highly anticipating here on Famewatcher is the Mindy Kaling TV series, Never Have I Ever, which is noteworthy for having a lead character that is of Indian descent. Major props to Mindy for continuing her trailblazing ways and for casting an acting newbie, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, to play the lead role. Yay.

Now, since we are all about guys, guys, guys here on Famewatcher, we are setting our eyes on the stars of the show who have the potential to break out and become a bigger star than they currently are. If we are going to make a bet on who would break out, we are gonna put it on Darren Barnet and our basis would be the following scene alone:

If there’s a Netflix movie we are highly anticipating these coming weeks, it would be Alice Wu’s The Half of It which is a coming-of-age story of a nerdy high school girl who befriends a school jock and their common affection for a pretty girl.

Our niece Shiela alerted us about the movie because she says she identifies with the nerdy girl and we are soooo looking forward to watching it with her when the show drops on May 1. Anyhoo, the lead stars are played by relative newbies Leah Lewis (as Ellie Chu) and Daniel Diemer (as Paul Munsky).

Aside from David Birtwistle, another cast member of Too Hot To Handle which we are looking forward to ogling is Aussie/Kiwi contestant Harry Jowsey. This would be Harry’s second bout with dating reality shows since he won the New Zealand reality show Heartbreak Island in 2018 along with a girl named Georgia Bryers. The two actually dated for a while before they broke up because of the long distance between them — she was living in Wellington while Harry was living in in Auckland.

Or will the dating show drop and is immediately forgotten? The answer remains to be seen, of course, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be the former rather than the latter.

Anyhoo, as you may already know, we here at Famewatcher are thirsty THOTs and hos who love to ogle at hunky reality TV contestants such as our imaginary boyfriend JP Gadelha of The Circle Brazil. So when we found out about Netlflix’s latest dating show, we wondered whether it’s cast would have someone we’d be adding to our list of imaginary boos (or is it beaus?).

Colin is playing Josh Wheeler who is described as a 17-year-old outcast originally from Canada looking for his girlfriend Sam Dean. According to TV Guide, the name Sam Dean is apparently an homage to the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean (played Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively), from The CW’s long-running show Supernatural.
