His name is John David Washington and he’s been active in the biz since he starred in the 2017 movie Love Beats Rhymes. Now, he’s actually appeared in earlier projects but only as a background character such as in the 1992 movie Malcolm X where he played a bit role as a “student in a Harlem classroom”.

Anyhoo, John David is currently starring on the Netflix movie Beckett which has been topping the Netflix rankings worldwide these past few days. He also starred in the movie Malcolm & Marie which earns the distinction as the “first Hollywood feature to be entirely written, financed, and produced during the COVID-19 pandemic” according to wikipedia.

Chase Vacnin is Hot in His Tank Muscle Shirts. Who’s the guy rocking his tank shirt with impressive biceps? His name, fellow clueless Famewatcher, is Chase Vacnin. He is a 19 year old actor born in Manhattan and raised in Long Island, NY. And he currently stars on the Nickelodeon TV show the Drama Club about a group of middle schoolers who “shine a light on the inner workings of their school’s overlooked drama club”.

Chase plays Bench Logan, the school’s football jock who decides to join the nerds and their drama in the Drama Club. He sure looks the part, doesn’t he?

The guy is clearly very talented and embodies what our friend Deena calls the quintessential Hollywood hunk and yet, for some reason, he is not on the top of the hill. Sure, he continues to work in tinseltown and has proven his longevity but the fan in us think that he, you know, should be in the A-List.

Was it for lack of a good agent or a good publicist? The kind of roles he plays? Or is it simply a matter of serendipity, you know, of doing the right project at the right time which propels an actor to the top. But then again, maybe the simple answer is that he never really wanted to end at the top. Who wants to be an A-Lister if you have tons of problems that go along with it, no?

So, Famewathers, we’d like you to check out Conan Gray and let’s have the great Elton introduce who he is: “There’s a boy called Conan Gray who has a song called ‘Heather’ and he’s about 22, he’s from America and he’s the only person in the American Spotify Top 50 to actually write the song without anybody else. Everybody else there’s four or five writers on (a track) and (Gray is) going to be huge…you look at most of the records in the charts – they’re not real songs.
