British singer Sam Smith came out last May in an interview with thefader.com. During said interview, he talked about an unrequited love who inspired his latest album. Now, he apparently found a boyfriend. Yay for Sam and his new man!!!

You sing a lot about love and relationships. What’s been your experience with love? I’ve never been in a relationship before. I’ve only been in unrequited relationships where people haven’t loved me back. I guess I’m a little bit attracted to that in a bad way. In the Lonely Hour is about a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn’t love me back. I think I’m over it now, but I was in a very dark place. I kept feeling lonely in the fact that I hadn’t felt love before. I’ve felt the bad things. And what’s a more powerful emotion: pain or happiness?

Scott Mills on Strictly Come Dancing. British radio DJ and TV personality Scott Mills will be dancing in the upcoming 12th season of Strictly Come Dancing. How will he fare in the competition? He admits to not knowing how to dance at all so it would still be an achievement if he ain’t eliminated in the first round. Haha. He tells us more about why he signed up for Strictly and whether he has a competitive streak. From mirror.uk:

What made you sign up to Strictly this year?
I signed up because I like to do something every year that makes me scared. As much as I say I don’t like being scared, I obviously do. Which makes me an adrenaline junkie! Four or five years ago I wouldn’t have considered it but I feel braver now. I did street dancing with Olly Murs on TV and the Sport Relief desert trek where we trekked across the desert in Kenya – I never thought I’d be able to do that. So here we are! That’s why I said yes. I don’t know whether I’ll live to regret it…

Are you a competitive person?
Not massively. Or I don’t think I am. But I’ve not really been in a situation where I’ve been up against people before. I want to make it good. I don’t want to be ‘the bad one’ so that makes me a bit competitive already…I’m going to do as much as I can, try my best and hopefully do alright.

Did you know that Richard Quest – the guy who became the face of CNN when the Malaysian Airlines flight 370 disappeared – is gay? Hah! Apparently, he is. And he’s been out since as far back as 2006 when being gay was not as accepted as it is today.

From a 2006 Guardian article about the new Al Jazeera news network and why it failed to sign up Richard Quest:

Richard Quest of CNN said he turned down an offer on the grounds that being gay and Jewish might not be suitable. There were also problems over where to locate the four main hubs. A decision to base one in New York was vetoed in favour of Washington, and the Chinese government could not guarantee freedom from editorial pressure in Hong Kong so Kuala Lumpur was chosen for Asia. (London and Qatar make up the other two.)
