Rohan Antao Freida Pinto: Jilted Ex, Speaks Out. Finally, Freida Pinto’s ex-fiance/husband Rohan Antao has broken his silence about their relationship. In an interview with the News of the World, he reveals the following:

On Slumdog Millionaire:
“I hate the film. It wrecked my relationship. As soon as it became a success and she started spending all her time with Dev, she ended it.”

On their relationship:
“We were from different groups but I thought she was stunning and we had so much in common. We spent all our time together, just the two of us. We were a modern couple, so we didn’t need a chaperone.”

Eric Hadar vs Richard Hadar: Father vs. Son Lawsuit

Someone should make a TV movie out of the life of real estate tycoon Eric Hadar. He’s got a very interesting life that involves drug charges, custody battles, and a court case against his father. According to the New York Post, Eric, the overseer of a $500 million property portfolio was arrested in October after Yonkers cops stopped him for erratic driving and found cocaine, oxycodone and hundreds of Valium, Xanax and Oxycontin pills in his car.

To his credit, he tried to sober up by spending rehab time in a Pennsylvania rehab facility and, again, at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. After his treatment however, his father Richard – who ran his empire while the younger Hadar is in rehab – refused to hand it back.

Anti-Bono: Dambisa Moyo’s Dead Aid

We think Dambisa Moyo’s got some interesting points. Aid can encourage and perpetuate dependency and celebrities can help people in need without inviting too much attention to themselves.

From her interview with the NY Times:

Q: As a native of Zambia with advanced degrees in public policy and economics from Harvard and Oxford, you are about to publish an attack on Western aid to Africa and its recent glamorization by celebrities. ‘‘Dead Aid,’’ as your book is called, is particularly hard on rock stars. Have you met Bono?
I have, yes, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last year. It was at a party to raise money for Africans, and there were no Africans in the room, except for me.

What do you think of him?
I’ll make a general comment about this whole dependence on “celebrities.” I object to this situation as it is right now where they have inadvertently or manipulatively become the spokespeople for the African continent.

USA Selikon Fake Endorsements. Oh my. Want to know how David Beckham satisfies Victoria? We don’t know how but some audacious (and, we must admit, a little creative) advertising executives in China say they know the secret. Except that they don’t actually know but are only illicitly using Beckham and other famous celebs to sell some Viagra-like sex pills called USA Selikon. From news.com:

SOCCER star David Beckham and actors Sean Connery and Keanu Reeves are being illicitly used to promote a sex drug in an advert being shown on TV stations around China. Footage of Beckham in action and with his wife Victoria is used in the advert for the Viagra-style pills called USA Selikon with Chinese voices dubbed onto the film to show the AC Milan star apparently endorsing the product.
