Why Is New Miles aka the Clone Bad at Lovemaking: Living With Yourself

Why Is Miles 2 (aka the Clone) Bad at Lovemaking in Living With Yourself? Are you wondering why the clone Miles aka New Miles aka Miles 2 is bad at lovemaking? Considering that he is the better version in other aspects of life, shouldn’t he be new and improved too in the carnal knowledge department? Or is the show trying to tell us that Gretchen Bundchen has some complaints about Tom Brady VI’s bedroom calisthenics skills?

Well, you are not alone in wondering about the matter because we also wondered about it and some of our friends at Reddit raised the issue too. In fact, some of them are going to the extent of calling it a plot hole:

The show was great. However, there is somewhat of a plot hole. The new Miles shouldn’t have forgotten how to have s*x with his wife. Hell, for all intensive purposes (sic), shouldn’t he be better at it? He still retains his memories as if he was the original Miles, so the knowledge on s*x should still be there. This begs the question: if the spa treatment worked as planned, and he truly thought he was still the same Miles, wouldn’t he be totally better at s*x? [TallSwaggOVO]

Fair question, no? However, we do not think it is a plot hole. The fact that Miles 2’s lovemaking skills left something to be desired makes sense considering that, actually, the spa treatment failed or, to use the words of TallSwaggOVO, it did not work as planned. For the spa treatment to be considered successful, the original Miles should be playing a harp in heaven or wherever it is that dead people go.

Instead, the old Miles is up and about and kinda competing with his clone which could have prompted the new Miles to overcompensate which is, more often than not, an ingredient of bad lovemaking. Competing and overcompensating are understandable human responses right?

These two factors — competing and overcompensating — could also explain why the New Miles is too great, too loving, and too kind. We think it’s safe to presume that he won’t be any of these things and would be merely a new and improved version of the original if the spa treatment worked as planned, i.e., if the old Miles is sitting in heaven.

We scanned the Reddit thread where the above question was asked to see whether someone has a similar answer to ours and here’s one we are co-signing 100%:

I think knowing he’s a clone and knowing this is the first time this body has had sex got into his head and caused the bad sex. He was too self conscious plagued with inadequacy to be able to perform. [_Woodrow_]

Now, as to whether the show is telling us that Giselle Bundchen may be complaining about Tom Brady VI’s bedroom skills, we don’t think she is and this is simply because his spa treatments have been successful and that his five prior versions are quarterbacking in heaven. By the way, if the universe this show introduced becomes true in real life, would it mean that the New England Patriots quarterback need not undergo hair transplants as we blogged about years ago?
