1. Sarah Jessica Parker had an ancestor who participated in the famed 19th-century California Gold Rush and another who was accused of witchcraft in the 1692 Salem witch trials.

2. Matthew Broderick’s grandfather was a 22-year-old medic in World War I who was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.

John Paul and Edward Grimes: Irish Twins on X-Factor (Final 50). Irish identical twins John Paul and Edward Grimes made it to the Final 50 in this year’s X-Factor talent search which will soon air on ITV. Simon Cowell reportedly didn’t like the twin’s audition but they impressed the other judges – Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, and Louis Walsh – who voted to pass them through to the next round.

Simon eventually changed his mind about the boys.

There Goes the Neighborhood: CBS Reality Show (posted 28 July 2009). Apparently, the reality genre isn’t going the way of the dodo anytime soon. Simon Cowell will continue to make millions. Cheryl Burke will continue to Dance With the Stars. Shaquille O’Neal is starting his own reality show, Shaq Versus. And CBS is going to pit families against each other in There Goes the Neighborhood.

From a CBS release about the show: “In what promises to be the ultimate social and family bonding experiment, the actual homes will be cut off from the outside world as it becomes family vs. family in a competition to win upgrades for their lives and their homes.”

More from the press releas: “With virtually no electricity and no ability to text-message, watch television or surf the Internet, these families will be forced to reconnect and work together as a team. For the duration of the competition, the eight homes will be surrounded by the daunting 20-foot wall with no way in or out.”

Kandi Burruss Real Housewives of Atlanta. The Real Housewives of Atlanta is going to have a new member in the person of Kandi Burruss, an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer. Kandi, who’s replacing DeShawn Snow, admits that she’s a fan of the show so she didn’t think twice about joining the Atlanta housewives.

More on Kandi from CNN: “Burruss is well-known in the music industry as a former member of the platinum-selling R&B girl group Xscape and co-writer of such hits as Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills” and TLC’s “No Scrubs,” for which she won a Grammy. The Atlanta native almost ended up on another reality show with former group mate and writing partner Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, who is the fiancée of rapper T.I. and now stars on BET’s “Tiny & Toya” alongside Antonia “Toya” Carter, the ex-wife of Lil’ Wayne.”

Guess who reportedly hooked up when they were doing The Apprentice on BBC. It’s Kate Walsh and Philip Taylor. Says a source who blabbed some dirt to the Daily Mail:

‘Kate was flirting with some of the boys from day one and Phillip made it clear he was interested. He made a move and the pair got together after that.”

How predictable, no? The cute guy goes for the hot girl and vice versa. But the relationship reportedly didn’t last. Maybe it was just a showmance then? Or maybe it’s their strategy to win the board room wars?
