Yeah, we were very impressed. He beat Andy Murray, for Christ’s sake. How can we not be impressed by that? And he made it to the round of 16 where he succumbed to eventual champion Dominic Thiem.
The Canadian tennis player is currently ranked #20 in the world and, although he has yet to bring home an ATP title, the 20-year-old athlete has already banked US$2.8 million in prize money. That’s a lot of moolah for a young man so it’s a good thing he’s got a family who keeps him grounded.
Says the rising tennis star of his father and the fatherly advice he received (via atptour.com):
My dad messaged me the other day and said “I have three pieces of advice: ‘Keep working hard, stay the same person and find a school’.” He wants me to go back to school, so I have to find an online school now. Having these kinds of people around you helps you stay the same person. I’m lucky to have great people around me. They’re always saying the right things and helping me do the right work.

According to Max Gao who took the photos, it is Felix’s initiation to the Canadian Davis Cup team: “#FBF to just under two months ago when @felixaliassime was nominated for his first #DavisCup tie. His official initiation into the Canadian team? The 18-year-old had to play a few practice points in nothing but Nike compression shorts in front of the entire team.”
