Because, why not? It’s got drama, it’s got laughs, it’s got a riveting story, it’s got fashion, and it stars a dreamy guy in the person of Jacob Fortune-Lloyd who has become everyone’s imaginary boyfriend. Well, not everyone but the comments we read on social media are about how good looking he looks. Or, to use the words of our Spanish friend Javier, “Esta bueno.”
Anyhoo, here are some still photos of Jacob Fortune Lloyd, who plays DL Townes, on The Queen’s Gambit. Townes is one of the early opponents of the lead character (Beth Harmon played by Anya Taylor-Joy) and the two went on to become good friends.

On the show, it is strongly suggested that DL Townes is s*xually ambiguous — sparks fly between him and Beth but they never went to first base because what could have been was interrupted by a guy who may or may not be Townes’ boyfriend. Anyhoo, as we were saying, you should go watch the show on Netflix.

Like many British actors, Jacob is a trained in the craft of acting having attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Of course, like his fellow Brits, he’s acted on stage too as he does in this production of Shakespeare’s Lucrece.
