Harry Kewell Football Player to Football Coach. Seven years later, we are updating this post to note that the Aussie footballer slash model retired in April 2014 or a little over a year after our initial post on him.

He then transitioned to coaching and is currently the manager for Oldham Athletic A.F.C. in Manchester, England. His other coaching/managing gig include stints with Watford FC, Crawley Town FC, and Notts County FC. Here;s Harry rocking his V-neck shirt as a coach:

You gave us boxer Daniel Geale and His 2xist Underwear, rugby player Earl Sandor and His Teamm8 Briefs, tennis hunk Patrick Rafter and his Bonds Underwear, and Dan Carter and his Jockey Underwear. Oh wait, Carter does not count because he is from New Zealand.

Harry Kewell Underwear Model For Politix. Anyhoo, lets add Harry Kewell to our list of Aussie sports stars who welcomed the opportunity to model men’s underwear.

Reports the Daily Telegraph from back in 2010: “HARRY Kewell is the latest high-profile sportsman stripping down to his undies – but don’t compare him to David Beckham. ‘There’s only one David Beckham, but he’s opened up a whole other avenue for a lot of footballers,’ Kewell told The Sunday Telegraph from Istanbul, where the Socceroo star plays for Galatasaray. “But I’m just trying to be myself and I think it’s nice to look good.'”

The 34-year old football hunk is modeling a brand called Politix. This is the first time we hear of Politix but it is apparently an Aussie menswear label. Aside from underwear, the brand’s product line includes jackets, shirts, suits, denims, and other men’s stuff, but we know that undies are what you are interested in so let’s focus on Politix underwear, shall we?

By the way, for those of you non-Aussies who are not familiar with Harry Kewell, the most important thing you should know about him – other than the fact that he sizzles in his boxers and skimpy briefs – is the fact that he is considered by sports-mad Aussies as their country’s greatest football player.

From The Australian: “HARRY Kewell was tonight named as the greatest Australian football player. Kewell, born in Sydney’s western suburbs, and who played in the English Premier League, Turkey and most recently with Melbourne Victory last season, including two World Cup campaigns, edged out the likes of the late Johnny Warren, current Socceroo captain Lucas Neill, goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and Tim Cahill. More than 15,000 people cast their vote and funds raised will go to support the Johnny Warren Football Foundation.”

What does Harry say of the honor he received? He’s humbled by it: “I’m humbled by the award and very grateful, especially given that the public have had such a say in the final result and the number of great footballers this country has produced over the years. To be named amongst such great players in the greatest ever Australian team, both past and current, is something I will never forget.”
