Brooke Shields Watch is a Rolex Day-Date (published: 27 July 2010). Today in famous ladies watches, we bring you Brooke Shields and her Rolex Day Date watch. As we mentioned in an earlier post, the Rolex Day-Date is also called the Rolex President watch.

Wikipedia tells us why:

The Rolex Day-Date is an officially certified, self-winding chronometer wristwatch notable for becoming the first wristwatch with a day-date function. Nicknamed the “Rolex President watch”, the Day-Date has long been synonymous with prestige, power, and exclusivity. In 1948, the Chairman of Rolex presented President Eisenhower with an 18kt yellow gold Datejust watch, one of the company’s exclusive watches, to celebrate the Allied victory over the Nazis in World War II. However, in 1956, Eisenhower’s watch needed a new bracelet. The new bracelet with a concealed clasp was nicknamed the “President’s bracelet”, but soon the Day-Date watch was also nicknamed the “President”. Most likely, this is because is the same year the Day-Date watch was introduced.

Other famous people who wear Rolex Day-Date include: Bono who famously wore it to meet President Obama and tennis great Arthur Ashe.

Russell Crowe’s Rolex Day Date President Watch (published: 21 August 2010). Let us add Kiwi/Aussie hunk Russell Crowe to our group of celebrities wearing Rolex Day-Date watches. He is wearing one in the still photo below from his 2008 movie Body of Lies.

Now, don’t you just love the hirsuteness of our Russell. It would be a crime if he goes All-Hollywood on us and get one of them male body waxing nonsense.

Eminem’s Rolex Watch is a President? (published: 17 August 2010). Check out rapper Eminem’s (real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III) Rolex watch. We don’t know the particular model he wears but it lools like a Rolex President or Day Date. What do you think?

Ahyhoo, here’s a small anecdote (via Eminem Fan Forum) about how our rapper supposedly one of his Rolex watches:

EM got his Rolex watch from Jimmy Iovine, the head of Interscope Records. 1 day, he was playing around and started complaining about how Kid Rock got a Rolex for Christmas and all he got was some free CDs to give to his cousins. So yeah, they gave EM a Rolex and he was happily surprised.
