Known for his known for his blond, clean-cut good looks Tab Hunter was the heartthrob of Hollywood in the 1950s to the 1960s and he continued to work in the biz until 2015 when he appeared in the documentary Tab Hunter Confidential which was based on an autobiography he published. Among other revelations, Tab revealed that he is actually a gay dude in both his book and the subsequent documentary.

Speaking of actors in the closet, one can argue that the most popular of them all is no other than Rock Hudson who was one of the biggest stars of his day. He was a pretty good actor too and was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the 1956 western Giant alongside James Dean.

Gardner McKay is best known for his role on the ABC TV show, Adventures in Paradise, where he plays the role of a Korean War veteran.

We’d call Steve McQueen our imaginary boyfriend among these vintage hunks but he, sadly, passed away in 1980 when he was only 50 years old. Steve was nominated for an Academy Best Actor Award for his role in the 1966 movie The Sand Pebbles. According to wikipedia, he was the highest paid star in the world in 1974 and, because of his popularity, was sought out by studios despite the high price he commands.

Denny Miller starred as Tarzan in the 1959 adventure movie Tarzan, the Ape Man. For those who are wondering, the girl beside him is Joanna Barnes who played Jane to Denny’s Tarzan.
