Top African Models and Beauty Queens. Looking for gorgeous female models and beauty queens from Africa? Well, here’s a top five list for you. We begin with Sudanese model Alek Wek who get props from us for her amazing longevity in the modeling world. She started modeling in 1995 and she is still going strong. You go, girl!!!
Next up in our list of top African female models is Kidan Tesfahun from Ethiopia. She won the World’s Best Female Model 2009 contest organized by Sukier Models International in Alicante, Spain. Wow, what a beauty.
Says Kidan of her victory as well as her prior modeling experience: “I love to model, however it is a pity that the modeling industry is not professional or well established back home, so aspiring models like my self cannot make a living out of want we like to do. From here on I guess the sky is the limit for me, I have gained the professional acceptance I always knew I should have, and I am indeed grateful to the Almighty Lord for guiding me and making my dreams come true.”
Aside from being a model, Kidan is also a beauty queen who represented her country in the Miss International and Miss Earth competitions.
Speaking of beauty queens, check out Tatum Keshwar of South Africa. Tatum, a psychologist, was born 1984 in Durban, South Africa. She represented her country in the Miss Universe 2009 contest.
Tatum is a model of Black African, White and Indian ethnicities. Apart from going to Miss Universe, she also represented her country in the Miss World 2009 contest in Johannesburg, South Africa. Tatum’s hobbies and interests include yoga, modelling, reading and going to the gym.
Another African beauty queen is Nelsa Alves of Angola. The Miss Angola also represented her country in Miss Universe 2009 which was held in the Bahamas.

The fifth on our list of five African female models and beauty queens is Sandra Otohwo. She’s the second beauty from the left. Like Nelsa and Tatum, she was a contestant in the 2009 Miss Universe competition. She represented her native land, Nigeria.
