Our MTV VJ crush in the 90s is in the limelight once again and, boy, are we very very happy for him. If you haven’t read it already, go check out his profile on Vulture. At a time when websites are all about clickbait, the article by Nate Jones is a thoughtful and enlightening piece of journalism.

Anyhoo, Simon Rex is back in the limelight because he is starring in a movie called Red Rocket. Both the movie and the actor’s performance are receiving Oscar buzz and we are keeping our fingers crossed that our Simon will be bringing home that nekkid statue come awards night!

The film, which opens on 10 December, has been well-received in the festival circuit and currently has an 85% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Our favorite of said reviews would be the one from Matthew Doughterty of IGN Movies which goes: “Director Sean Baker continues his strong career of shedding light on the fringes of American society with incredibly human stories. The undeniable center of Red Rocket, however, is a powerful turn from Simon Rex.”
