Vintage Hunk of 50s to 60s: John Saxon Shirtless and Underwear Photos. Let us continue blogging about Hot Vintage Men and, for this post, let us appreciate the beauty of the late actor John Saxon.
Sadly, the actor died a few weeks ago but he leaves behind an enduring legacy as one one of the very few actors who began his career back in the 1950s and who managed to consistently find acting projects up to 2017 when he was cast in the indie movie The Extra. If that does not leave you in awe of the guy, we do not know what will.
Even more impressive is the fact that, because of his pretty boy looks, he actually started as a teen idol who tend to become irrelevant when their beauty fades. John Saxon clearly managed to transcend the teen idol curse because he went on to star in nearly 200 — specifically 197 — movies or TV shows according to IMDB.
Part of John’s formula to having a long Hollywood career is that he tried everything (not just the pretty boy roles) which proved his versatility.
He’s done romantic dramas, Westerns, horror, and martial arts movies. Here’s John as a romantic leading man in the 1968 movie For Singles Only which co-stars Mary Ann Mobley.
And here’s the actor going toe to toe with Bruce Lee in the iconic martial arts film Enter the Dragon which was released in 1973.
John with Audie Murphy in the 1961 movie Posse from Hell.
John as a soldier in the Korean War with Robert Redford. This is from the 1962 movie War Hunt which was listed by the National Board of Review as one of the top ten films of the year. It also won the Silver Sail Award at the Locarno Film Festival.
Oh, did we say he’s pretty? Of course we did but it bears repeating as you ogle at his photos back when he’s in the prime of youth. Haha.
