Trevor Van Riemsdyk Shirtless. Time for another shirtless hockey player and, this time, let’s check out Jersey boy Trevor van Riemsdyk who currently plays defense for the Chicago Blackhawks. [Update: As of 2020, he is now with the Carolina Hurricanes.]

A few days ago, Trevor made his first appearance in a Stanley Cup final and reportedly impressed his coach. From the Chicago Sun Times:

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville was encouraged by Trevor van Riemsdyk’s postseason debut in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. With Johnny Oduya suffering an upper body injury, van Riemsdyk could come in more handy than Quenneville ever imagined.

Playing an NHL game for the first time since Nov. 16 and in any hockey game for the first time since March 28, van Riemsdyk had 9:01 of ice time against the Lightning without incident. He was an even plus/minus for the game.

“I was impressed [with] how well he played, his composure,” Quenneville said. “Kind of like the way he came into training came for us.”

Well, well, well. His play is not the only thing impressive about our 23-year-old defenseman. Wink. Wink.

Trevor is the younger brother of Toronto winger James van Riemsdyk who had these words of advice for the former’s first Stanley Cup finals (via Chicago Tribune):

Just to enjoy it and remember it. It’s just a hockey game. There’s a lot of stuff going on, maybe a little more hectic and stuff outside of the rink, but when you get on the ice, it’s just another hockey game.

The older Riemsdyk played in the finals as a rookie with the Philadelphia Flyers so he knows whereof he speaks.
