Plus Size Womens Underwear: Michelle Olson in Dolce Gabbana Corset. Want more plus size fashion for girls? Of course you do! So here’s British model Michelle Olson looking fabulous in her Dolce and Gabbana corset. Dolce and Gabbana, huh? Yeah, good for them. As we said earlier, we’re glad the fashion industry is also giving some love for curvy ladies.
As we all know very well, girls come in different sizes and not every girl is as slim as Lindsay Lohan.
Plus Size Womens Underwear: Crystal Renn in Dolce and Gabbana
25 June 2011
Another female model who posed for the D|G designer label is American model Crystal Renn. Check out her photo for a Dolce and Gabbana campaign from way back in 2006. The pic was taken by noted fashion photographer (hehe, we’re borrowing what Tyra Banks describe Nigel Barker) Steven Meisel.
Currently, Crystal is ranked by models.com at #21 in its Top 50 Female Models list. Here’s what the site says about Renn: “With back to back issues of Vogue Paris, serious rotation in V magazine, a Gaultier campaign this season and runway presence for Gaultier and Chanel the message is clear. Crystal Renn is simply put, an extraordinarily good model.”
It is worth noting that Crystal is no longer as plus-sized as she used to be as she has lost a lot of weight. The weight loss kinda is controversial. Some say she is conforming to the “skinny” demands of the fashion industry. She has ably defended herself against her critics by essentially saying that she should not be enclosed in a box or limited to a “she’s a plus size model” label. We understand where the two sides are coming from, plus-sized girls do need a model who can reassure them that it’s okay to be plus-sized. At the same time, there’s really nothing wrong with losing weight as Crystal did, right? Sure, its okay to be plus-sized but its also okay to lose weight.
Anyhoo, let’s check out for Dolce and Gabbana clothes for plus-sized girls, shall we? What do you think of this fabulous dress on X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke? Our friend Deena calls it “very peacocky” which we think is a very apt description.
Alexandra is not really a plus-sized girl but the good thing with fashion is that you can wear anything you want, right?
By the way, if you are a New Yorker and are wondering about where you can buy your Dolce Gabbana plus-size dress or or kinds of outfits from the D&G label, we are told that you can find them in Saks Fifth Avenue. The store supposedly started carrying plus-size designer clothes since last year.
