Mikey North Shirtless, Underwear, Wife or Girlfriend: Gary Windass (2020 Update). More than a decade later, we are updating our post on the Coronation Street star to note that, apparently, he is now very much married. He tied the knot in 2016 to Rachael Isherwood who, if we are not mistaken, is also in the acting biz. Here’s a photo of the couple from an OK Magazine photoshoot.

Mikey North Shirtless on Coronation Street (posted 25 July 2011): This is for those of you who are looking for a shirtless Mikey North. The gods of Coronation Street heard your prayers and so they asked him to appear in this scene without any shirt on initially.

Pray that said gods will show his character Gary Windass to dance in his underwear a-la Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Wouldn’t that be cool? Anyhoo, here are still images of a a shirtless Mikey which we capped from the video below.

Gary’s storyline on Coronation Street involved serving as a British Army soldier in Afghanistan and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Commenting on his role, Mikey North says its the most rewarding role ever: “This is the most challenging thing I’ve ever done, but it’s been the most rewarding. I had a guy come up to me in the street and said he signed up for the Army because he saw Gary on Corrie and it inspired him.”

The story also brought light to PTSD or the trauma that soldier’s suffer after they return home from overseas. “Since the whole post-traumatic stress storyline has played I’ve had letters from people in the Army – high-up people, too – thanking me for raising awareness of it. You’ve got no idea that you’re doing it right, so to get that recognition was reassuring,” says Mikey in an interview with TV Biz.

The Daily Mail reports: “Coronation Street actor Mikey North was left with a broken jaw after he was beaten up in a vicious attack over Easter Weekend. The 22-year-old soap star, who plays Weatherfield bad boy Gary Windass, was hospitalised after he was beaten by two assailants in Scarborough, Yorkshire on Saturday night.

A suspect was reportedly arrested in connection with this incident but was released on bail. Police authorities are continuing their inquiries.
