Jennifer Westfeldt Plastic Surgery: Sculptra Injections? Did actress and screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt undergo plastic surgery to enhance her looks? We don’t know about her undergoing cosmetic surgical procedure but Dr. Anthony Youn, who publishes the Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery website, suggest that Jon Hamm’s partner might have undergone some Sculptra injections.
Says Dr. Youn: “Jennifer Westfeldt – Actress and girlfriend of John Hamm – Her cheeks look puffy and chipmunk-like – Sculptra injections in her cheeks?”
Here’s a closer look at Jennifer during the 2012 Golden Globe awards from which Dr. Youn based his guess that she had some Sculptra injections.
Now, what exactly is a Sculptra injection? Does it work? How does it compare to Botox? And how expensive or cheap is it? According to wikipedia, Sculptra is a dermal filler.
In 2004, it gained the approval of the Food and Drug Administration or FDA for the treatment of fat loss.
Then, in 2009, the FDA approved Sculptra for cosmetic purposes.
How does it work? Here’s what the manufacturer of the product says about how Sculptra works (via sculptraaesthetic.com):
Sculptra Aesthetic works to target the underlying causes of the signs of aging such as collagen loss. Sculptra Aesthetic is a facial injectable that works gradually in a series of treatments — an average of 3 injection sessions over a period of a few months — to produce a refined, more youthful-looking appearance. During the course of your Sculptra Aesthetic treatments, collagen is replaced. Over time, you’ll notice changes to your face that can last for more than 2 years.
How expensive or cheap is this procedure? It depends on how many treatment sessions you have to undergo to achieve your desired look.
A little birdie told us that Sculptra ranges from $450 to $550 per syringe so it can get pretty expensive if you have to have many sessions.
