Ever since college football star (and now NFL rookie) Michael Sam came out of the closet, everyone and their mother have been talking about the young footballer and his bravery. “Everyone”, of course, includes us here at Famewatcher because we did a blog post on Michael (see Michael Sam Underwear) but we were very wrong when we mentioned that his boyfriend is a certain Sean Smith. In fact, Michael’s boyfriend is a certain Vito Cammisano.

Because rugby is one of the gay-friendliest team sport on in the world, we thought that there will be lots of gay rugby players to write in this list. Turns out that we are mistaken. In fact, you need only one hand to count the number of pro rugby players who’ve come out.

The good thing though is that there are several prominent rugby players who are supportive of the LGBT community so we decided to include them here as straight allies.

Gay Wrestlers List: College, Amateur, Pro, WWE. When we were researching our post on Jake Atlas, the names of other gay wrestlers kept cropping up so we decided to make this list of male wrestlers who belong to the LGBTQ community. Note that we are using the world wrestler in its broadest terms so the list ranges from college grapplers to those who made it to the biggest stage, WWE.

Darren Young has earned the distinction as, in the words of wikipedia, “the first professional wrestler ever to publicly come out while still signed to WWE.” Interestingly, his 2013 coming out may have been impromptu, as he simply answered a question by a TMZ cameraman whether a gay wrestler will ever be successful in WWE. His answer: “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.”

Gay Swimmers List: Olympians and College Stars. Today in Gay Male Athletes, we bring you a list of LGBT athletes who are rockin’ it in the world of swimming whether in Olympic lanes, university swimming pools, or elsewhere. First up in our list is Canadian swimmer Markus Thormeyer who recently came out in an article on outsports.com:

His teammates were, apparently very supportive. Here’s what he wrote: “One day, we were all hanging out and the topic of relationships came up in conversation. This was my moment. I casually said that I had never been on a date with a guy before and I was kind of scared of it. That I’d probably be a nervous wreck and ruin it. Then, without a sliver of judgment or skipping a beat, my friends told me that I’d probably be fine on a date as long as I just had a good time and just was comfortable being myself.”

Brian Sims Shirtless Photos. Who’s the handsome hunky guy in a pair of tight tank top shirt with a kinda girly drink? The bearded hunk, fellow Famewatcher, is Democratic Congressman Brian Sims. He represents 182nd district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

In earlier posts, we lamented that Republicans are outscoring their Democratic rivals in the “Hotness Department” but Brian is proof that Dems can be just as hawt, hawt, hawt.
