Bad Effects of Video Games, Part II

If you’ve been reading this blog particularly our post on the bad effects of video games, you already know that over-use of video games can drive you crazy and make you over-aggressive. You can also develop a thing called palmar hidradenitis or PlayStation skin disorder which will give you sore lumps on the palm of your hands.

But those are not all the negative effects of always video games. Here’s another one that we should add to our list: if all you do is play video games, your girlfriend will kick your ass or, worse, break up with you. This is exactly what happened to British tennis star Andy Murray who reportedly spends seven hours a day playing PlayStation 3. (Maybe this is the reason why he isn’t winning any Grand Slam title, huh?)

Anyhoo, Andy’s girlfriend Kim Sears reportedly called it quits with Andy because of his video games addiction. Reports The Sun:

A source said: “She felt she was playing second fiddle to it. There are a number of reasons for the break-up. But computer games did factor.”

Murray’s former coach has told in the past of the player’s “obsession” with his PlayStation.

Brad Gilbert said: “He plays video games seven hours a day.” Yesterday Kim headed off to university in Brighton from her parents’ home in Barcombe, West Sussex.

Can’t say we blame the girl for reacting the way she did. But then again, maybe Andy is just trying to improve his eyesight which, according to a research study, is probably the only good effect of video games.
