Breast Implant Cost: How Much to Pay?

Deena and I were talking about Carrie Prejean’s breast implant and she went, “Hmmm. I wonder how much a breast implant would cost?”

I was like, “What are you wondering for! At your age, don’t tell me you’re thinking about having a boob job.” And she goes, “No, no, no, no. I was only wondering.”

Anyhoo, according to a friend who knows about these things, a surgeon’s fee for a breast augmentation surgery in 2005 costs between $3000 and $4000. This price applies if you live in the U.S. of A. If you live in other parts of the world, the cost could be higher or lower depending on where you live. We’re pretty sure you can get it cheaper in Asia and Brazil.

Since the quoted price is only for the surgeon, it does not include the cost of pre-operative and post-operative care as well as things like anesthesia, medical facility fee, prescriptions, surgical garments, medical testing, etc. etc. So really, you must have more than 3-4k before you plan to have your breasts augmented.

Oh by the way, the Miss California organization claims that it paid $5,200 for Miss Prejean’s breast augmentation surgery. That should give us an idea on the cost of breast implants these days, no?
