Irish identical twins John Paul and Edward Grimes made it to the Final 50 in this year’s X-Factor talent search which will soon air on ITV. Simon Cowell reportedly didn’t like the twin’s audition but they impressed the other judges – Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, and Louis Walsh – who voted to pass them through to the next round.
Simon eventually changed his mind about the boys. Says an insider:
“Simon Cowell wasn’t convinced that they had that star quality at the start, but now he has done a total U-turn. He loves the fact that they’re identical twins as it’s a great marketing ploy and they’ve never had that on the show before.”
Well, well, you gotta give props to Simon for always thinking about marketing talent. The Grimes aren’t the only twins who are participating in this year’s show. In fact, we blogged about twin sisters Kim and Lauren Goddard earlier but we don’t know yet if they made it past bootcamp.

I was in bootcamp with them and they were very wierd……

OMG………Sorry but those of you who are bigging these idiots up clearly are not listening to the same thing the rest of the nation are because they are awful. They have NO talent and are going to struggle against the other amazing singers on the show! Louis Walsh clearly needs his head testing! Simon had the right idea when he said he would kick them off the plane if they were in his category. Such a shame he didn’t get that chance. That would have made for fantastic viewing!!

I think they are great and original. there are alot of sheep out there and not enough individuals. they are funny and real cheedky teenagers taking the piss…. and gues what its working…. I agree with a few people. Its actually fun to watch. I am looking forward to seeing John and Edward again. The show would be so boorring without them. I think they could be good just like louis walsh says i hope I wont be dissapointed.

Knowing that Louie put these two prats through to wind up Simon is the only comfort I can find in this situation. I love ireland and hope to spend the last of my days here, but this crap is just embarassing. So we have to vote them off first week.

I have wiped better things of the soles of my shoes that these chucky doll bastards. I am truly concerned that they may in the future breed and I have considered it possible that they will breed together and not only will England be overrun with travellers in future but they will be the offspring of these two.
I love these two guys. So what, they are not the best singers ever! They are original and playful and everyone is talking about them. X factor is an entertainment show and these guys are playing up the cheeky factor to get themselves noticed. They are only 17 – they have balls of steel to be doing this at 17. Well, if I close my eyes and hear them sing, they are not worse than the others, maybe even better. Its them I am waiting for when I watch the X-Factor, and if they should leave before the final, I will lose half my interest in the show.
