Alexandra McCallum: Canada’s Next Top Model?

Will Linda Evangelista fan, Alexandra McCallum, emerge as Canada’s Next Top Model?

The girl has been modeling since she was sixteen (she’s now 22 years old) and is hoping that Canada’s Next Top Model will open various doors for her in the industry.

Competing to be Canada’s Next Top Model on a high-profile reality TV show in Toronto is a long way from working at Wal-Mart in British Columbia’s Southern Interior. “It’s a huge culture shock, like ridiculous,” admits Alexandra with a laugh. “I live in a very small town.”

Although the modeling opportunities in a small centre are few and far between, Alexandra entered a competition when she was 16 years old just for fun and ended up winning the whole thing! She fell in love with the modeling world and landed work doing mall fashion shows and independent photo shoots. She hopes her time on CNTM will open up a lot of doors in the industry. “Just being in Toronto, it’s such a big fashion world. No matter what happens your name and your face are going to get out there.”
