Air New Zealand Body Painting Ad – Video Commercial. Air New Zealand flight crew star in this very interesting commercial. They got no clothes on. All they have is body paint. An air crew wearing nothing should be weird and yucky but this actually comes across as, well how should we describe it, kinda classy. You gotta give props to Air New Zealand for pushing the creative boundaries. The company also got in the news recently for its body billboard ads.

Air New Zealand’s Body Billboard (20 March 2009). CNN reports on an advertisement campaign by Air New Zealand which uses human bodies as billboards for ads. We’re not sure yet what to think of it. On the one hand, we think its very interesting but on the other hand we can’t get over the fact that this normalizes the use of the human body as a commodity. Next thing you know we’ll have company logos stamped on peoples forehead. Do we really want that to happen? We think we’ll go crazy when we ride our daily commuter train and all we see are passengers with ads on their foreheads.

Ahh, those conservative fundamentalist “Christian” Republicans, their hypocrisy knows no bounds, eh? One of them, Kim Cappello, gets himself arrested for a sidewalk fucking tryst with a woman not his wife. And another one, prospective Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Paul Mitchell, is going down the garbage tube for posting a roommate’s topless photo in his Flickr account.
From the Arizona Republic: “A Republican gubernatorial candidate found himself in hot water Tuesday after someone discovered a topless picture of his roommate taking a bath on the candidate’s account on Flickr, an online photo-sharing site. John Paul Mitchell, a 30-year-old yoga teacher and doctoral student at the University of Sedona, plans to challenge Gov. Jan Brewer for the Republican nomination in 2010.”
On Tuesday he said he had made a mistake in posting campaign photos to an account he shares with his roommate.

How Much Money Do Idol Judges Make? Now we have some figures on the ever-burning question that our good friend Deena asks whenever she watches Idol, “How much do them Idol judges make?”. Well, actually, we only have the figures for Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul and these are likely to change depending on the judges’ (particularly Paula’s) negotiating skills.
From LA Times: “Last year, former Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told Australia’s Courier Mail that the show’s trademark tough judge, Simon Cowell, earns $36 million each season (not including income from his involvement with Idol grads’ records). Cowell’s contract expires after next season, and he has been making noise that he might move on. Sources close to the show say Abdul earns a fraction of Cowell’s figure, pegging it at around $2 million.”
That’s a very big discrepancy, eh? Not that she needs more money but methinks Paula needs a raise as she does provide a lot of entertainment value.
