Look who had to go through the rigorous drug inspections conducted by Swiss customs officials? It’s Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
From Daily Mail:
For almost three hours Tara, 37, and three other passengers were subjected to an intensive search as sniffer dogs scoured the jet.
‘They were terrified,’ I am told. ‘The officers started pulling everything on the plane apart, apparently looking for drugs. The customs guys went through everything, pulling apart their luggage, clothes and even strip searching them.
‘Tara was totally distraught about the whole thing. She was made to feel like a criminal and subjected to a particularly invasive search.
‘Only when they were finished were the party permitted to leave. Nothing was found. The next day the head of Swiss police called to say sorry for what had happened. Apparently, he was very apologetic.’
We must admit that we kinda sympathize with Tara as we ourselves have gone through the “nitpickiness” of over-enthusiastic customs people. But, on the other hand, we also realize that these people are just doing their jobs.
