Unlike the other rumored American Idol wannabes who’ve got tons of stuff about them in the internets, Jakob McKay is refreshingly absent on the web. For this reason alone, I kind of like him already. Jakob, we hardly knew ye! Well, we do know the following:

Anyways, this Jakob with a K has a myspace page where he states that he’s sooo looking forward to January. In his own words, he goes: Jake can’t wait for January . Yeah, Jake, we can’t wait for January too so we will finally get to know if you’re cute. Hehe.

Sandy: How long have you been singing?
Jake: Singing in a band for about 5 years. Singing along to songs on the radio and in talent shows for most of my life.
Sandy: What genre of music do you most enjoy performing?
Jake: Piano rock, acoustic(think the Fray, One Republic, Phil Collins, Coldplay and the Killers.
Sandy: Have you ever had any kind of formal singing training?
Jake: Yes I have.
Sandy: Have you made any independent recordings?
Jake: Yes in Los Angeles but it was unreleased.
Sandy: Have you written any original material?
Jake: I have. Actually, I’d like to think that I am a decent songwriter and my goal is to have several self written tracks on my first album. To me it makes the album more personal.

I sent Jakob a message on his myspace page, and he actually answered me back. I said that I was having trouble waiting too, and he answered me back, saying “Waiting for what?” I wrote back saying, “American Idol. The internet abounds with spoilers these days.”
