Here’s a 2006 interview with Tatiana when he joined a play called Starwalkers.

Actress, Singer and Musician Tatiana Del Toro has signed on to portray Shikira OT 2933, a key character from the upcoming Star Walker spin off called – ‘Star Walker: Deuteronomy 9’. Below is an interview by Paul Sloan taken October 17th, 2006.

It’s late afternoon and Tatiana has taken an hour break from a heavy shooting schedule (she plays the lead in the Walter Reed directed indie film called Frozen Time), in order to give us an in-depth interview on her acting/singing career, and her exact involvement in Star Walker.

Let’s go back to the beginning for a moment, where and how did you begin your acting career?
I have always loved acting. I think it is such a beautiful and rich form of artistic expression. I was always involved in things that had to do with performing. I had a particular love for songwriting, singing, performing live and film acting. I studied acting all the way from elementary school and high school, to the New York Film Academy. My first film actually started when I met Walter Reed, a very talented director and writer, with big dreams of making his scripts come to life. The movie we are doing right now is called Frozen Time, and it is my first full-length feature. It is and indie action film and it is amazing! The script is wonderfully written and his ideas are powerful and captivating. Hopefully we will be done with that film by next year.

Did you study a lot of theater while you were in New York? Is that where you began your acting training?
Not really theater, but more, film. I did a lot of theater and things like that in high school and when I used to sing Opera.

When and why did you decide to come to Hollywood?
I actually never thought I would end up in California! I was keen on making it in New York, even when I really didn’t have anywhere to live! I was actually involved in a very dumb accident when I came back to “make it” in New York and had to return to Puerto Rico for rehab. I had previous accidents on my left leg and ankle (broke bones and shredded tendons) and that all needed to heal. I also stopped dancing because of it, but I am starting to dance again. What happened was, when I got back home to Puerto Rico after that final accident, I got a call from my mentor and voice instructor at that time (Patricia McCaffrey), telling me that I needed to move to LA to study with the legendary Seth Riggs. She had spoken to him about me and he wanted to teach me and be my mentor. And, of course, he is! It was the best move I could have ever made!

Could you tell us about your passion for music and how, and why you began that career?
I have always wanted to be a singer/songwriter. Always! I’ve always had an admiration for people like Bob Marley, Sheryl Crow, Paula Cole, Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Carlos Santana, RadioHead and artists like that who write and produce their own music. People who, not only were talented, but had something to say, and had an original idea, and made it come alive, and be born into this world. I knew I wanted to make meaningful, powerful, new music. I always just knew.

Do you plan on making a CD of your music in the future?
That’s the whole point isn’t it?? ;)

Are you signed with any record label yet?
I am currently still unsigned! I am waiting for God to bring me the perfect offer!! Call Me!

Do you write your own music?
Every note! I write, arrange, produce and perform it. I also play piano and guitar. Right now I am making music that no ones ever thought of hearing before. I am trying to merge all world cultures into one album. It is going to be amazing!

How does music and acting compliment one another for you?
They are both beautiful expressions of creative art. There is nothing more exhilarating to me than creating something new and making something live and breath through art. I love it! It all goes together. They need each other!

How did you find out about Star Walker?
Oh My God! This story is crazy! What happened actually was, I was in the middle of shooting “ Frozen Time” when Walter (the director) told me he wanted me to meet Cory Patrick Brown (a key member of Team Star Walker). He calls Cory and puts him on the phone. Cory and I start talking and we immediately had a strong spiritual connection. It was hilarious! After we spoke. I got home, exhausted from shooting and crying all day (my character gets kidnapped, so she is crying a lot!) and I take a nap. I had the most incredible dream! I had a dream that someone was trying to stop me from seeing Cory. In this dream there was a black crow that was “pooping” (in sweet words) on this Holy Water, there was also a snake and a rat trying to stop me from meeting Cory. All of a sudden I had wings on my back and I was SOO powerful! I blew at the crow and it turned to dust. I had killed it. I wasn’t afraid of anything. I was an angelic warrior of some sort. So I touch base with Cory that night and I tell him about my crazy dream. Cory was so shocked! This whole time he had been looking for someone to play the lead in Star Walker, ironically enough, an angelic warrior who blew away her enemies into dust! Well, of course, I started crying and then I went and read for him. I mean, so many things happened! I guess it was just meant to be! It’s a pretty unbelievable story! But I truly believe God chose me to do this.

What attracted you to the Star Walker project?
God.

Star Walker: Deuteronomy Nine is a spin off from the Star Walker Universe and involves stories centered on three angelic beauties, what interested you in auditioning for the character Shikira OT 2933?I just feel like it is in me to play her. I feel she lives in me. In many ways I feel like I am like her and that our missions are the same. To help people in need, to fight the Good Battle, things like that. I am in love with the character Shikira OT 2933.

What can you tell us about the Shikira OT 2933 character?
She is the leader of this particular unit of angels. She is the oldest, yet she looks so young. She is filled with wisdom and she seems undefeatable. Don’t mess with Shikira OT I’ll tell you that much!!! You don’t want to make Shikira mad. She’ll blow a tear at you and turn your bones into dust. She definitely doesn’t play around!

Can you tell us what the numbers at the end of her name mean?
It just all adds up to Deuteronomy. In fact if you take the numbers of all three of the characters, Kenya OT, Naomi OT, and Shikira OT, their numbers add up to the root number of 9! Shikira’s number is kind of also her ID number. There’s a lot to it! Check it out at www.thestarwalkers.com

Is there anything you would like to reveal about Star Walker that few people know yet?
That it’s an incredibly awesome project! And that everyone should log onto the site, and check out the crazy, exciting radio episodes! They are magnificent and so out of this world! It’s a wonderful story that can touch anyone and in the end, it is all good. You cannot go wrong with it. It is great, positive entertainment.

Will you be appearing in any of the Star Walker Radio Episodes?

Can you tell us when Star Walker: D9 will air as a Web TV Series?
Hopefully at the beginning of next year. We will have some spectacular episodes ready to be viewed by all the Star Walker fans all over the world!

What do you hope to accomplish with your involvement with Star Walker?
Making a great feature film with a wonderful message. Being, creative, and innovative with these radio episodes and with the film, and working and getting to know all the wonderful people involved in the making of Star Walker.
