What’s Theo Tams Up To?

So after his victory, what is our Canadian Idol Theo Tams doing these days? Well, after weeks in Toronto, he went home to be with his family and friends. He will also be cutting an album with Sony. Good for you, Theo.

A report about Theo’s homecoming from The Sunny South News:

Coaldale’s Theo Tams, just days from his crowning as the 2008 Canadian Idol, returned home Friday for a much needed break.

After weeks of living and performing in Toronto on the Idol stage Tams was singled out as the winner of the Canadian Idol last Wednesday evening. Over the course of the summer over 30 million votes were cast in the competition and Tams came out on top after going head to head with Mitch MacDonald in the final two last week.

“It’s been unreal,” said Tams on Saturday. “I’m so exhausted.”

He flew home Friday and surprised his family at his grandparent’s wedding anniversary. He said Friday night was the first good sleep he’d enjoyed in weeks.
“A couple more like that and I will be caught up.”

Leading up to the final, Tams said he was looking forward to wrapping up the competition and returning home to see his family and friends. While he thoroughly enjoyed the Canadian Idol experience, and is looking forward to cutting an album with Sony, he was also looking forward to coming home.

“It’s so nice to be back in Alberta. I’m starting to feel inspired to write again.”
With little if any sleep in the three days following his Idol victory, Tams said it was taking time for his win to sink in. He was looking forward to a little down time to let the whole experience and the fact he won really sink in.

Having a contract to cut a new album, he had already produced an independent album before entering the Idol competition, is something he is looking forward to in the new year.

“I’m just so happy.”
